As time goes on, car reviews by region gets more difficult; making cars is increasingly an international affair, as American car buyers lose the idea that domestic industry means domestic jobs. At first, it was just manufacturing that moved; now, engineering is becoming more international as well, with GM assigning engineering for different types of vehicles to different regions, Ford using foreign subsidiaries for their small and mid-sized cars and crossovers, and Chrysler signing deals with Nissan and others while building Indian and Chinese engineering centers. The major growth in auto sales is now in China, India, and Russia. Ironically, the citizens of these countries tend to buy from domestic manufacturers.
