A jury of 59 automotive journalists from 23 European countries has announced the seven finalists for the real international 2012 Car of the Year 2012 award are the Citroën DS5, Fiat Panda, Ford Focus, Opel (Vauxhall) Ampera/Chevrolet Volt, Range Rover Evoque, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Up!. The seven were selected from a field of 35 new vehicles based on innovation, quality, value for the money and design.
Normally, the winner is announced in November but following an agreement with PalExpo, beginning this year the award will take place at 3:00 PM, local time, on Monday, March 5, as the first event during the press preview of the 82nd Geneva Auto Show.
Last year’s winner was the Nissan LEAF.
